The Great
Pyramid of Giza
gHH
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing today. Built over 4000 years ago for Pharaoh Khufu, it rises from the desert near Cairo, Egypt, as a symbol of ancient engineering brilliance.
Made from over 2 million limestone blocks, the pyramid was originally covered in polished white casing stones that shimmered in the sun. It stood as the tallest man-made structure on Earth for nearly 4,000 years, until surpassed by Lincoln Cathedral
in 1311 CE.
