Since 1783

Hainsworth is the only woollen mill trusted to create the striking scarlet cloth worn by one of the oldest and most iconic regiments in the British Army...the Grenadier Guards. During the summer months you will see the guardsmen parading in London, at Buckingham Palace, along the Mall wearing their splendid tunics made from Hainsworth red fabric. In the winter they change those famous red tunics for grey greatcoats that are much thicker fabric to protect them from the elements and keep them warm, still using Hainsworth cloth. Grenadier Guards also guard St James's Palace and Windsor Castle.

Sentries at Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace and Windsor Castle are known as the King's Royal Guards. Hainsworth Mill still manufacture the famous scarlet cloth for ceremonial dress as worn by the Grenadier Guards also known as the King's Royal Guards.

Armistice Day: A day to honour our Military.

Armistice Day, known as Remembrance Day, the day that marks the end of WWI, the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, is an important date in the Hainsworth calendar. Not only because of their connection to the military throughout history, but as an opportunity to honour the troops who fought to make Britain the country it is today.
