One of the most commercial and influential contemporary artists of his generation. He is recognised as a pioneer of the Bristish art movement, for raising the profile of British art and for galvanising interest in the arts. He is the UKs richest living artist, with a wealth estimated at US$384 million in the 2020 Sunday Times Rich List.

Hirst thought he had lost his £20,000 winnings from the Turner Prize when he couldn’t find the cheque on him the following morning. But after phoning friends, it turned out he had put the whole lot behind the bar at the Groucho Club in London.
