Camm was described as the Isambard Kingdom Brunel of aeronautical engineering, with no formal training and with 50 aircraft designs to his name. His Hurricane was far more resilient than the Spitfire, it could absorb phenomenal amounts of punishment, and keep flying. Battle of Britain hero!
