The Midland Hotel

Frederick Royce, a successful engineer and Charles Rolls, owner of one of the UK's first motor car dealerships,

met at the Midland Hotel on Wednesday 4 May 1904 and agreed to sell motor cars under the name Rolls-Royce.

 They went on to produce the most prestigious cars in the world - Rolls-Royce.
