William Lyons

Lyons had been planning on making a modern gramophone, but then he saw the Swallow, Instantly, he could see ways of making it more cost effect and in greater quantities, without compromising its  appeal. In 1922 the Swallow Side Car Company was formed. In 1945, post WWII, he changed its name to  Jaguar to avoid negative connotations with the initials SS.
