Triceratops -
“The Three-Horned Face”
A gentle giant of the Late Cretaceous, Triceratops was one of the last dinosaurs to walk the Earth before the great extinction. With its massive frill and three striking facial horns, it likely used these features for defence against predators like Tyrannosaurus rex, and perhaps for display in social rituals or mating contests.
This plant-eating powerhouse stretched up to 9 metres long and weighed as much as 10 tons, grazing on low-lying vegetation with its beak-like mouth and rows of shearing teeth. Despite its bulk, Triceratops may have moved in herds, offering protection and companionship in a world full of danger.
Its fossilised skull is one of the most recognisable in the world-
a symbol of strength, resilience, and the dramatic close of the Age of Dinosaurs.
