April-June, Britain launched a counter-invasion to reclaim the Falkland Islands...fierce air battles, heavy naval losses, and brutal encounters between ground forces followed. The war lasted 74 days and ended when Argentina surrendered control to Britain, an act that led to the downfall of Argentina’s military dictatorship.
