George restored confidence in the monarchy. He presided over the break-up of the British Empire, the beginning of the Commonwealth, the darkest days of WWII, and the Independence of India and Pakistan.  He supported the people of London during the Blitz.  Spoke at the 1st UN assembly in 1946.  And died peacefully in his sleep, in 1952. One of Britain's best loved monarchs.  He was succeeded by his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II.

Logue helped George prepare for his Coronation broadcast and all big speeches until the end of WWII. By Christmas 1945, he felt confident enough to manage on his own. "You know, Ma'am," Logue said to Queen Elizabeth, "I feel like a father who is sending his boy to his first public school."  The Queen patted his arm and replied, "I know just how you feel."
