"Murdering Kings was, thought the French, a peculiarly English thing...until they started to murder their own."

Dr Philip Morgan

Richard ruled for just 26 months and became the most vilified monarch in British history. The killing of a brother, enemies executed without mercy, a wife poisoned to pursue an incestuous marriage. He fell at the battle of Bosworth, bringing an end to the bloody Wars of the Roses. 500 years on, his unmarked grave was discovered by archaeologists under a Leicester car park. Finally, in 2015, the last of the Plantagenet Kings was reburied in Leicester Cathedral.

Did Richard murder his 2 nephews, 12 year old Edward V and his younger brother Richard, to claim the Crown for himself? He sent them to the Tower, declared them illegitimate and they were never seen again.

In 1674, builders at the Tower discovered the 'bones' of 2 small children and presumed them to be the 2 missing Princes. We may never know!

"...that King Edward's sons, by some unknown manner of violent destruction, had met their fate."
