The world's longest-serving vehicle ceased production in 2016, after a run of 68 years. It was created in the shadow of WWII and inspired by American Jeeps and GIs that were flooding into Europe. Made from aluminium, which was in abundance thanks to the British public answering the Ministry of Information's call to hand over their iron railings, pots and pans for the war effort.
