Elizabeth has lived through the Abdication, the Blitz and WWII, the Cold War and moon landings, the nuclear threat and Fall of the Berlin Wall.  Has known 12 US Presidents including JFK and Barack Obama, and other world leaders like President Mandela.  Her Prime Ministers have ranged from Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher to Theresa May.  She is a formidable public figure, but is also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Long live the Queen!

Since the Battle of Hastings in 1066, when William the Conqueror defeated King Harold II and took the throne, a jubilee in celebration of 60 years on the throne has only occurred twice: for Queen Victoria, who reigned over Britain and the Empire for 63 years, and for Queen Elizabeth II in 2012.
