It's a myth that Morgans have or have ever had a wooden chassis. All Morgan cars since 1909 have had steel

or an aluminium chassis and the ash frame has been to strengthen the body. Current Morgans have a rigid chassis

and aluminium body work. The wood in the cockpit area is a frame which provides deformable protection between the

chassis and the aluminium outer panels.
