Prince Philip participated in 28 official tours of Canada from 1951 to 2000, with his first in 1951, accompanying then Princess Elizabeth. During the same period of time, he has also taken 13 private working tours of the country, participating in events such as the Commonwealth Study Conference, or the presentation of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. He has made more than 70 visits to Canada, including 19 royal tours with Queen Elizabeth II.
