A crucial figure in the development of British agriculture who made farming more effective and easier!

Tull's seed drill was not immediately popular in England, to his surprise the farmers who really recognised the value of his improved drilling methods were the early settlers in New England. It even aided the development of the special relationship between Britain and America. It took a century to pass before the method of drilling seeds at regular intervals, at the right depth and covering them with earth would displace the ancient method of sowing seeds by hand.
