The British Grand Prix, Silverstone, 1973 and McLaren mechanics prepare the three cars for the following days race.

It was still a time when teams often worked late into the night and in often basic conditions, not like the modern facilities of today.  A smoking mechanic or pints of beer on the car would probably not be allowed either!

This was the first Grand Prix ever to be stopped by an accident after Jody Scheckter in the 3rd McLaren, the car at the back of the picture, lost control at the end of the first lap. The resulting collisions blocked the track.
