James Watt

One of the true giants of the Industrial Revolution, James

Watt transformed steam power by introducing the separate condenser, eliminating Newcomen’s colossal heat waste. Building on that breakthrough, he rebuilt the engine into a

fast, efficient, and reliable machine that industry could

finally depend on.

Steam power transformed textile mills first, then raced

through mines and transport. James Watt’s breakthroughs

made it unstoppable, freeing factories from rivers and

igniting the Industrial Revolution.

“Watt’s engine is a mine-drainer  -

mine drains are all its fit for,”

said Richard Trevithick
